As Director of Communications and Marketing for the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce, Kristi Bailey is responsible for the management, development and design of Chamber communications, both internal and external. Her work includes brand management, advertising, marketing and publications. She is responsible for the Chamber’s three websites and social media platforms and is a media liason.
Before joining the Chamber in 2008, Ms. Bailey spent eight years as an award-winning reporter and editor at the St. Joseph News-Press. She covered law enforcement and the Buchanan County Courthouse before becoming a city editor.
Ms. Bailey has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, emphasis in journalism, and a minor in business from Missouri Western State University. She also has a Master of Business Administration degree from Northwest Missouri State University.
She is very involved in the St. Joseph youth softball community. She serves as the secretary for the Midland Empire Softball Association and has been an assistant coach for her daughter’s travel softball teams. She has also helped plan youth tournaments in St. Joseph to attract teams to visit from other communities.
Ms. Bailey is a graduate of the United Way’s Leadership St. Joseph program and a past member of its steering committee. She is a past president of the St. Joseph Women’s Press Club. She has volunteered for many other St. Joseph groups, including the YWCA, Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels and the Missouri Western State University Greek community. She is married and has one daughter.
