Specialty Industries recently opened an in-house store for employees and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The store was created to offer employees an affordable and easy way to get needed items such as hygiene products and clothing. However, the store also includes fun items like flowers for Valentines Day, sunglasses for summer, and hats, coats, and gloves for winter. The items can be purchased with pretend money employees earn by doing good deeds.
The store front was built by Chris Smith of Mr. Fix It. The idea was to make it colorful and fun. Dr. Seuss was chosen as the theme and Chris completely succeeded by making the store appear whimsical.
The store has been a significant success with employees lining up to shop during their break times. This past holiday season a mother shared that it was the first time her son had bought her a Christmas present (through the store) without any assistance from her.
