The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce has kicked off its 18th annual Shop St. Joseph Holiday Program. The shop local program is designed to encourage residents to do their holiday spending in St. Joseph.
Shoppers can collect tickets from Nov. 13 to Dec. 16. On Dec. 18 one lucky shopper will win a $10,000 grand prize. Also, shoppers also can win $2,500 for shopping at small businesses. For this program, small businesses are defined as locally-owned businesses that have 10 or fewer employees. Shoppers also have a chance to win second-chance prizes from some participating merchants. Shop St. Joseph is presented by First Option Bank.
The program works by participating retailers giving one Shop St. Joseph ticket free to shoppers and then another ticket for every $10 spent. Traditional shops participate, as well as restaurants and service providers.
