Second Harvest Expands

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently for the Second Harvest Community Food Bank in celebration of its 11,500-square-foot refrigeration expansion.  The expansion allows additional space to store more food before delivering to people in need in the 18-county region of northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas.

The new cooler, designed and constructed by Al J. Mueller of St. Joseph, features wide corridors that allow pallets of food to be moved safely and efficiently and also includes a second loading dock, helping speed loading and unloading when multiple trucks arrive at the same time.
