Inspiring Message Given at Farm City Breakfast

Today the Chamber hosted about 550 people at the 22nd annual Farm City Breakfast. After the event, many attendees said it was the best Farm City Breakfast ever. This is largely in part to keynote speaker Dan Meers (longtime KC Wolf), and presentations by The LifeLine Group, AFA and a presentation about the Farm Family of the Year.

Dan Meers gave highlights of his career as a mascot, first as Truman the Tiger at MU, the Fredbird for the Cardinals and then as KC Wolf. He also gave an inspirational message about choosing your words, actions and behavior and to try to look for the positive in life, despite difficult circumstances.

The Scott Gann Family was named Farm Family of the Year. Meet the family and see some of their farming operation in the video here.

Attendees also got to hear from an AFA (Agriculture Future of America) representative and scholarship winner about the scholarship program that provides funds to students pursuing education in agriculture fields. St. Joseph is a leading provider of funds for AFA scholarships.
