On Friday, Gov. Mike Kehoe, leaders from Van-Am and members of the business community celebrated the company’s 45th anniversary and its recent $1.5 million investment in its St. Joseph facility.
Gov. Kehoe spoke briefly about Van-Am’s new defense contract associated with the MK-41 weapon defense system, a below-deck naval missile launching system used by the U.S. Navy.
“If you read a little bit about it, it’s super cool,” he said. “This means once again, that products designed and manufactured right here in the ‘Show-Me State,’ are helping strengthen our national defense and we couldn’t be more proud of that footprint.”
