The mission of the Community Alliance of Saint Joseph is to promote a shared vision for the community through collective input from citizens to provide a strategic plan and implementation process to help St. Joseph optimize its potential.
As Director for the Community Alliance of Saint Joseph, Steve Johnston works to facilitate the group’s stated mission and goal. Its goal is to work together to advance improved educational opportunities and attainment, as well as improved livability and quality jobs to promote growth and a solid future for St. Joseph and its residents.
Mr. Johnston has served in both the non-profit and private sector. His background includes sales and marketing for both domestic and international business expansion, human resources functions with an emphasis in recruiting and management training, and operations management.
Mr. Johnston has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University. He is a graduate of Leadership St. Joseph and has participated in many volunteer leadership roles. Mr. Johnston is past President of InterServ, United Cerebral Palsy and the St. Joseph Rotary Club. He has also been an active volunteer with the United Way and the St. Joseph School District. He has lived the past 30 years in St. Joseph.
