With a goal to create an environment that allows business to succeed and the St. Joseph area to prosper, the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce serves as a catalyst for overall economic expansion through business development and job retention and creation.
As President and CEO of the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce, R. Patt Lilly oversees all of the Chamber’s activities, including economic development, membership and administration. In partnership with the business community, the Chamber identifies and facilitates the accomplishment of goals that lead to a strong, vibrant business environment.
Mr. Lilly draws upon a wealth of knowledge from his previous career experience as he leads the Chamber. He has been a leader in St. Joseph city government, business and the Chamber. Mr. Lilly served as St. Joseph City Manager from 1990 to 1996, as Chamber President and CEO from 1996 to 2006 and as Chief Administrative Officer for Triumph Foods from 2006 to 2013. At that point, he decided to make a return to the Chamber because of his passion for working toward the good of the entire community.
Before coming to St. Joseph, Mr. Lilly worked as the City Manager of Bellaire, Texas, and for the City of West University Place, Texas. He also has experience in commercial banking.
Mr. Lilly has a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Houston. He also has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Houston. He, and his wife Sherri, live in St. Joseph.
